My chihuahua Sophie is a little piggy. She always ate her food so fast then went to the other doggos bowl and tried to eat theirs too, usually successfuly. This made her look like a potato with legs. After getting this bowl she hates me but she eats much slower thus the other doggos are finished with their food by the time the walking potato is done. She has lost some weight and now is my little Tater Tot!The bowl stays in place when she eats, it seemed big for her but workes perfectly. Definitely helped her eat much shower and enjoy her meal more.We bought this for our Boston terrier puppy, because we had heard that it is important for them to eat slowly. This bowl does slow him down a little and the obstacles are rounded and varying heights, which make it easier for him to reach the food.My pug is a quick eater and this causes her to burp, fart, and have what we call "the gurgle gut." I wanted a slow feeder bowl that wasnt too deep, as i was worried about her short stubby nose. This one works well. It does take her longer to eat her food. I havent noticed the gurgle gut, although she still passes gas (could be a food or pug thing). This one may not slow her down as much as other bowls could, but like i said, was worried about the depth for her stubby nose and this one is just right!I recommend this bowl to slow down the food eating process for your dog!I have a very fast eating puppy and this slows him down by a lot. He was the runt of the litter and eats very fast due to food competition. I was so worried about bloat and now I feel reassured that he won't swollow too much air.This is too easily emptied by our little dog. Slows him a bit.The bowl itself is a quality item if you're not looking to slow down your dogs rate of food consumption. We have a basset hound puppy and this bowl didn't slow her down at all. We ended up buying a different maze bowl that works much better.The Whippy bowl certainly slows my apparently voracious pug down. My only two concerns are that even though it's for small dogs, I sometimes have to help my small pug get her last bites; she just can't get down into it. Also, it came with no cleaning directions. So, sometimes I handwash and sometimes I put it in the dishwasher. It seems to be dishwasher-safe but I suspect it would last longer being fully hand-washed. But who wants to do that? Overall, I recommend this product.Bought this for my cats to help them lose weight and slow their feeding. Only bad thing is it’s light weight so if u get a smart animal it would be easy to flip.
