I actually didn't realize it was ceramic until after I'd ordered, but that was a lovely surprise since it's SO easy to clean (we don't have a dishwasher)!Our cat tends to gorge herself and then be sick, and we needed to add some meds to wet treats for her, so we needed an appropriately-sized lick mat to help make sure she could actually keep it down. This was perfect. It's small, effective, easy to wash and reuse, and holds a wet treat well.It did take a little bit of adjustment for both cat and human - I can't just squeeze the wet treat onto it directly as the treat is too thick and just sits there, I need to mix it with the meds and a bit of water to thin it out so it spreads effectively, making sure the mixture is smooth/combined - but now that we've worked it out, she can go nuts and I don't have to clean up any messes later on!
