These are sturdy racks. I've been using these for steaming in medium-sized pots, and I chose them for their higher legs. But I really like the way they keep food higher and up out of the water -- and because they're higher I can add more water beneath them. I can use them for roasting as well, and these are high enough to let heat get around the food and keep the chicken or meat up out of the juices.
