Unfortunately, I don't think the description given is sufficient for most people. The Pegan diet is NOT vegan. Just like it's not strictly Paleo. The idea is one of using a primarily plant based diet without starches and dairy, but also allowing meats in a reduced proportion.I'm not sure this book of recipes accurately portrays this, as many of the recipes require/feature ingredients that are on the 'use sparingly' list. This might just reflect the inflexibility reflected by constraining the principles of the diet to a slow cooker.I do feel there are a number of recipes that can be easily modified to include more plants, mainly by changing proportions of foods or adding additional leafy vegetables.
