TODAY'S UPDATE - ASSEMBLED - TESTED - WORKS GREAT....After hooking up the parts listed below, I can state, in my case, that my Portable Buddy heater is now operating - being supplied with an adjustable tank regulator set to 15 PSI and this gas line is adapted to screw into the threads where the one pounders attach.... I feel much "safer" with feeding my heater with a very low gas pressure of 15 PSI vs the full tank pressure, 120 to 140 PSI, or more, and this low 15 PSI is a real safety improvement over the high pressure - normal hose feed system....Using the one pound cans, there is very minimal issues with any gas leaks, but, with using the "normal" hose, there is the HIGH TANK PRESSURE traveling from the tank to the filter to the heater. I don't like that. So, wanting to use my 20# or 30# tank for indoor use, I figured that since these Buddy heaters use an Mh18b propane gas regulator, I looked up the specs and discovered that these regulators have an operational input pressure range of 5 to 200 PSI with the output regulated to 11" of water = .395 PSI. With the 120 to 140 PSI coming out of the 20# tank, most aftermarket hoses will leach out the hose manufacturing oils and make mandatory the use of a "filter" which is nothing more than a "catch can". So, being the retired design engineer that I am, I ordered a tank regulated hose with a POL fitting that screws INTO the 20# tank, unlike the other hose assemblies that use an outer, black composite knob that screws on the tanks OUTSIDE threads. Nope, don't like that either, not as safe as using a **POL fitting** that utilizes brass threads into a brass tank fitting. Check out my list for the very safest method - JUST TESTED - to run you Buddy heater via the high pressure, can screw in port - WITH LOW PRESSURE. All available at the big A store....1. (cheap insurance)....Now, when I receive all these goodies, I'll assemble my stuff, set the hose regulator for say, 10-15 PSI, maybe a bit lower, check for leaks, and, (hopefully), be good to go with using my Portable Buddy - inside - fed via a LOW PRESSURE gas line system. I would be very safe to say that the "risk" of a hose failure or leak using the LOW PRESSURE of 10 to 15 PSI, is greatly minimized using this method. Whatever "safety concerns" a Buddy heater user would/did have, are greatly minimized by feeding their Buddy heater with a LOW PRESSURE gas feed to their heater.... FYI - MY Portable Buddy heater's run time - on LOW, is right at 4.2 hours per pound of propane. I have not needed or checked the run time on HIGH as Florida "winters" only need a bit of heating help that the LOW setting provides....
