I looked on the bottom of my pressure cooker and used that number to order this replacement ring. Numbers matched up perfectly to this part, I am not an electrician so the tine little ul nearby meant nothing to me, now I see it, just great. Ring arrives, way to small. Then I notice a bunch of numbers under the handle. Yep, that is the CORRECT model number. Now wouldn't it make sense to tell people to simply look under the handle for the model number? Like the first place anyone would look is on the bottom of something, right? How frikkin stoopid not to do this and save everyone a bunch of wasted time and money. My daughter used this product to replace my mother’s old seals with no problem. I had a little difficulty replacing the ring on my 55 year old pressure cooker but once on it is working fine. Both are presto 4 quart pressure cookers.I've used a Presto Pressure Cooker on a regular basis since 1968; my daughter has used hers since 1995, I don't know what I'd do without access to the sealing rings and automatic air vents!!! Thank you for making them available to shoppers like me!!!Seal ring fit my "no parts available" Presto 4-412 Perfectly. Air vent loose but seals when pressurized Cranked up the heat till hissing scary and good to go.part 09909 The one I got measuredRing outside diameter 9 inches width 3/8 inches thickness 7/64 inchesI should say it fit perfectly because it is snug in the groove and 1/2 -3/4 long in length so it stays in groove. You want it that way. If you run dry and overheat things they shrink in length.Compress it when putting in groove [ like pushing a rope uphill ] and you can shrink it 2 inches or more.Idea..if you have unworkably long one, heat it up a LOT like when you run out of water and blacken everything and shrink it.....mine shrunk maybe an inch and was too small :-(Update...I wrapped it around slightly larger salad spinner for 3days and it stretched out and has not shrunk back. ...lol :-)I recently purchased a very well-used cast aluminum Presto 4-quart pressure cooker (No 40) at a flea market. Even though the seal ring was very old, brittle and cracked, surprisingly, it would still built up pressure. It had the old-style pressure "plug" in the lid also. I decided to replace the seal ring which included the new style automatic air vent that has the small metal center pin that pops up when the pressure builds up. I ordered part number 09909 even though I wasn't 100% percent sure it was the right one. It took me a while to dig the old, hard, brittle ring out of the lid groove. When I first put the new seal ring into the groove I ended up with some excess ring left over. I thought maybe it was the wrong one. I pulled it out and put a little water on it and worked it into the groove then it fit perfectly. The automatic air vent worked also. Very satisfied with the product.I have a pressure cooker that is so old, I don't even know how old it is. But it was my grandmothers and she said it had originally belonged to her mother (guessing possibly as much as 80 years old). The gasket/seal had completely worn out, chunks were falling out every time I used it, and steam was always leaking out of the sides. We did not want to buy a new pressure cooker so I finally just took a chance and ordered this item, not sure if it was the right one for my pressure cooker. Well it was perfect. It took quite a lot of work to get the old gasket completely out, I had to use a Dremel tool with a pointy brush tip attachment on it to get the groove completely cleaned out to allow for a good fit for the new one. Once it was all clear, it fit like a glove. I put the lid on and used it and the fit and seal were perfect. Very good purchase.....I'm ordering a 2nd one now that I know I've got the correct one....so I can pass this pressure cooker down to my daughter some day.Wife likes it.I bought this as a replacement gasket for my old Presto pressure cooker and it fits perfectly!A person with no model number or size referring to 4 or 6 qt Presto pot has very little option of getting the right size rubber seal due to the lack of inner measurement on your products. Re: for 6 quart Presto pot. You had everything except for the Advertisement which was not very clear or precise. Also once you ordered the product you could not return it., Upsetting, the consumer is not notified of this ahead of time and was notified only at the time of trying to return which in my case I wanted to replace the product from a 4 quart to a 6 quart rubber seal. This was due to lack of information. A $22.00 item that I cannot use. I finally found and ended up paying under $10.00 at Home Hardware. That incl. tax. Unhappy Camper.Incredible and many thanks to a company that supports it's products that are well over 70 - SEVENTY years old. My parents who are long gone, bought the Presto cooker in 1949. I remember Mom using it in the 1960's. Since then it was unused, stored away and forgotten. After cleaning it, I found of all places, you can get parts for it right here on Amazon. Using the guide still published on Presto's website, we've used it and it works as well as I'm sure it did when it was new.So glad to see this product available. Now I am able to put the old presto back in use. There are tricks to getting the ring to fit, one is to make sure the ring track in the lid is totally clean, use a stiff small brush, another is to push the ring a bit back on itself just a bit when you are installing it. The ring appears to be too big, it is not. Be careful not to use oil when inserting as oil can deteriorate the rubber. This is not a quick job. Above all, make sure you have the correct ring for your cooker, model # on bottom of the pot, or on the handle base.My Presto pressure cooker is more than 40 years old. I thought it was done when the lid began leaking steam. I found the part number in the original manual. I entered the number in the Amazon search box and the replacement sealing ring came up immediately. The sealing ring was easy to replace and it fit perfectly. The pressure cooker is working like new again! Thanks Amazon.I really like it but the problem is I ordered the smaller size by mistake, and I can not return it for an exchange of a bigger size. Why no return on this product. All I want is exchange it with a bigger one.
