I tried to use this to calm my dog during her baths. The bath terrifies her and causes her to have a complete anxiety meltdown, but she insists on getting filthy. The silicone mat is flexible, thick and large. It can hold a lot of food for extended distraction time. I loaded it up and had it stuck to the bath tiles along the wall of the tub. Initially, it held wonderfully, until I started washing her. Once the mat got wet, the suction cup started sliding down the tile wall because the suction cup is too shallow and made of much thinner silicone than the rest of the mat. Eventually, the mat fell into the tub and was submerged in dirty, soapy water. So for using it in the shower / tub, I'd say it doesn’t work as advertised. Coincidentally, my dog is 3 months old and she's teething like crazy! I've bought a bunch of teething toys, but the toy she seeks out everyday is this lickimat. I guess the silicone is soothing on her sore teeth and gums. That makes it quite versatile, the silicone is thick enough that her teeth cannot penetrate it, but suction cup silicone was quite a bit thinner and she chewed it right off. Overall, I do not recommend the large lickimat splash for the bath, but it's a great success outside of a bath or wet area. My dog loves it!
