This item is actually hard to review because you don't use it until you need it. Then when you NEED it you really NEED IT!! We have 2 All American canners models 941 and 910. We do alot of canning in the summer and the 941 makes quick work of any canning job! The challenge with the 941 is its size and weight. It will do 19 quart jars at once! To big and heavy with all those jars plus not to mention how tall it is sitting on top of our stove, you can't see or put jars down inside without a step stool. We use it outside on a propane burner thats much lower to the ground...like a turkey fryer burner. Keeps the kitchen nice and cool too when we're outside. We use the much smaller 910 for smaller indoor jobs. It will do 4qt jars nicely. My wife and I bought them both with money we received as wedding gifts 15 years ago. Money well invested! We have never had even a hint of a problem with either canner! I just thought after 15 years its time to replace the extra plug we bought with the canners originally (and haven't needed) The original plugs are still working great never a problem! I would like to mention our personal experience to anyone that buys a brand new All American canner. Both our canners needed a breaking in period for the metal to metal seal to work properly! It took approximately 5-10 uses with water only before the seal really worked well! Bring the canner up to 15lb. pressure for 1hr. and let canner cool down. After 5-10 times of bringing it up and letting it cook for an hr and then letting it cool...the seal is perfect! We called the factory because at first the seal was really leaking bad on both canners even when we used the Vaseline as suggested in the owners manual. This procedure was suggested to us by a very nice and helpful employee at All American. He also suggested only using very little/light coating of olive oil on the seal! He said 99% of the people use way to much Vaseline in the beginning which is what Im sure we were doing. Yes getting the lid off was a problem the first few times but never has been since we use a very light coating of olive oil each use! Both units have sealed and work perfectly now for 15 years! We have never had to worry about replacing those silly gaskets! OR this plug knock on wood!
